2003: Spark Awarded Project by Rochester Institute of Technology
Spark Design Group wishes to announce that Rochester Institute
of Technology's Executive EMBA Program has selected Spark Design
Group as a Capstone Project recipient.
An Honor and a Privilege
Spark’s selection as Capstone Project recipient is a significant
honor and privilege. In December of 2003, a small number of Rochester
based companies were selected for MBA Capstone Projects, and an
even smaller number were selected for EMBA (Executive MBA) Capstone
projects. Of the thirty-two applications submitted only four were
selected. Spark was one of them.
The R.I.T. Capstone Project
Each year R.I.T. carefully selects local companies to work with
their MBA and EMBA candidates for the purpose of applying the
newly learned business skills of the candidates, in a real world
environment. The companies chosen to receive a Capstone Project
benefit significantly from an intensive twenty (20) week program,
in which an R.I.T. team, of three or four MBA/EMBA candidates,
works on a business project / goal for the Company. A Capstone
project could be likened to an MBA thesis project. The MBA / EMBA
candidates also benefit, from the opportunity to work in a real-world
situation where they can apply their business training and knowledge
and see the results of their efforts. Spark expects this effort
to conclude in May of 2004, and also expects to benefit from the
effort by mid-late 2004.
The Challenge
Spark has tasked its EMBA Capstone team, dubbed KG2, to develop
a comprehensive Marketing Strategy plan to bring Spark’s
Technical Graphics and Documentation services, which include:
Web, multimedia, 3D interactive Web / CD / training and instructional
tools, and all types of high-end computer generated graphics,
to a national market.
