EPL's past
approach to illustration involved the creation new CAD
generated line art utilizing the actual product as input.
Current approach utilizes engineering assets as input.
The "toys" are shipped to our offices where
they are disassembled, carefully measured using Vernier
Calipers, and illustrated. The process for illustration
production has been predetermined by the client, and
Spark follows this recommended process accordingly. The
products range from simply plastic toys with a few moving
parts to highly complex model trains with thousands of
working parts, circuit boards, wiring, and more. Spark
generates more than one hundred new products for the
client annually, and many more examples are available
on this Web site. The illustrations are eventually exported
as .PDF files for use on the EPL Web site for the purpose
of parts ordering. The illustration is vector and generated
utilizing an AutoCAD software product.
